I love all the events that are coming up.
The Wirral Food and Drink Festival is a particular favourite of mine as it is near home, the setting is amazing, particularly in the courtyard and the team running it are all absolutely fabulous. The atmosphere is wonderful … for the past 3 years they’ve even managed to get the weather right! (Well almost!) If there is only one event you go to all year, make it this one! We will be launching our Chocolate Tasting Club here!
Last year was the first “opening event” for Liverpool Food and Drink Festival … very different in style to the Wirral, but equally fantastic. The organisation was fabulous and I felt very safe taking along my two little ones. The Festival opens with an event at Sefton Park and then restaurants (and chocolateries) hold special events through the week – we have a cheese, chocolate and wine tasting on the Monday and a chocolate tasting on the Tuesday. The week closes with Feast on Hope Street!
For me these events are an eye opener as I see all the amazing foods that are available to us! I always come away with bag fulls of food and brilliant ideas … it is so different buying food from a producer! Their passion for their food is always so intense and they can tell you so much about their food that you would probably never know if you only stuck to supermarkets.
Can you tell I’m getting excited?! Anyway I hope this year will be fabulous again and look forward to seeing both old and new visitors. Enjoy!
We get so excited and chaotic when we get to the middle of August as we prepare for the Wirral and Liverpool Food and Drink Festivals. They really are brilliant and a “must see” for anyone passionate about food. Both festivals offer an amazing array of food producers as well as interesting and unique demonstrations from respected chefs. This year the Liverpool Food Festival is also  hosting a Chocolate Garden which is really exciting!! The Wirral Food and Drink Festival has “The Good Life” tent – can’t wait to see it.
Personally if we weren’t attending with our chocolates anyway, I would go to both – they are both themed around food but very different!
Better get cracking with our production for these!
The dates to save in your diaries are:
Wirral Food and Drink Festival – 26th and 27th August
Liverpool Food and Drink Festival  – 1st and 2nd September
We have two tickets for the Wirral Food and Drink and two tickets for the Liverpool Food and Drink up for grabs this month and it’s so easy to win them.
All you have to do is design a truffle. Weren’t we all amazed and impressed with the TeamGB this year?! So, in celebration of the amazing medals and sucesses of TeamGB, what truffle would you design for them?
The more creative the better and if your ideas special enough we may even create it for the festivals to sell!
Submit entries via facebook on our wall or by tweeting your idea to @ChocolateCellar with #olympictruffle
Closing date midday Thursday 23rd August 2012.
So we are finally out of the chasm of Christmas and New Year – I believe it really is “back to school” for us all now!
2016 was a magical and crazy year for us – we made many new friends both personal and business.
Here are some of the highlights:
- We took on the lovely Ella as part of the team.
- We ran our first family workshops at Claremont Farm and also started our workshops at REX Liverpool.
- We were delighted to be asked to run the Albert Dock Easter Sessions.
- We ran lots of Hen Parties at the lovely Siren Cafe.
- We were filmed by the lovely Rachel Rhodes for The Guide Liverpool.
- We took part in the Queen’s 90th Celebrations in Wallasey Village.
- We schemed and plotted with Squidges to bring you Creepy Creations at Claremont and were aided and abetted in this by Readnowwritenow and AlrightPetal.
- We enjoyed the Summer Arts Market with Open Culture and were blown away by the amazing Winter Arts Market at the Anglican Cathedral!
- We were named as one of the Small Business 100 and were so very honoured to be amongst the other amazing businesses that were chosen.
- We went to Downing Street and made it on time!!
Phew! What a fab year that was for us and we were so truly thankful for all the support from all of our friends and family along the way.
We have had a break now and had some lovely family and friends time and Christmas and New Year Celebrations do indeed seem a dim and distant memory.
So here we are on the brink of 2017 and hoping that it will be as blessed. We are already hatching plans for Valentines Day and Easter (Not quite making anything for those yet!!)
We have been taking school workshop bookings as well as hen parties and are now in the process of sorting out further workshops for the gifted Workshop Vouchers out there.
Do watch this space for more news – hope this year is good to you too

So – our pledge of writing a regular blog sort of faded into the background as we crazily made chocolate for Mothers’ Day and Easter. We hope you managed to follow us on Instagram as we absolutely loved taking part in the #MarchMeetTheMaker Challenge – this was set by Joanne Hawker and many of our […]
Do we really need these reminders? views: 128
This week has seen us being inundated with love and kindness. It has been Galentine’s Day, Valentines Day and Random Acts of kindness Day – all between Monday and Friday. What a week!! It is sad that we have to have days to remember to have fun with our female friends, to say “I love […]

Quite often, as small independent businesses, it is easy to get lost in the day to day running of the business. There are always deadlines to be met, phonecalls to be made, leads to be followed up. The big picture can often get lost in the big buzz of business. This is why we […]
Moulds and Chocolate views: 342
Moulding chocolate is one of the topics we are often asked about when we do chocolate demonstrations or workshops. So firstly – let’s talk about the spelling. From the Grammarist website, here is clarification whether it should be mold or mould! … Mold vs. mould American English has no mould, and British English has no […]
